Tournament Mode is a game mode in Dragon Ball Online Generations that allows players to participate in tourneys.
Mechanics[]
The player can enter a tournament by talking to the corresponding NPC located at its respective tournament arena. The player is given the option on whether or not they want to enter the tournament; should the player say yes, they will be teleported to another place.
Only eight players can participate per tournament. Upon entering the place, the player will be forced to wait in the lobby. All players in the lobby have to wait until all eight spots are taken. Afterwards, each player is put on a bracket, with their opponent randomly chosen. Which two players are chosen to fight each other depends on where they are placed on the bracket: the farthest left side of the bracket always goes first, and goes all the way down to the farthest right.
The bracket list is always as follows:
Bracket Tier | Number of Pairs/Matches | Remaining Fighters |
---|---|---|
Quarterfinals | 4 | 8 |
Semifinals | 2 | 4 |
Finals | 1 | 2 |
The set of fighters that are up are teleported to the center arena, while the rest get to spectate in whichever fighter's perspective. The winner of the match gets to move up on the bracket list; the loser gets teleported to the spectator stands, where they can either watch the rest of the tournament or leave the game. The player who wins the finals match wins the entire tournament and gets rewarded with a Zeni prize. How much Zeni the winner is rewarded depends on the tournament.
There are several different tournaments the player can participate in. Each one has a leaderboard. Whoever has the most wins in a tournament gets a statue erected in that tournament arena, up until the leaderboard resets. The leaderboard resets every week.
Rules[]
- All playable races retain their race abilities and transformations. However, Majins cannot use Absorption; just Super Regeneration.
- Items are not allowed.
- Fusion is not allowed.
