Skill Types[]
Skills are split into seven categories.
Type | Description | |
---|---|---|
Beam | Skills that gauge power by Ki Damage, taking the appearance of energy beams. They can be triggered by pressing whatever numerical key the player assigned that skill to. They normally take up the Ki bar. The majority of Beams can be charged (by holding down the assigned key before releasing it), and the player can move slowly while doing so. | |
Blast | Skills that gauge power by Ki Damage, taking the appearance of energy blasts. They can be triggered by pressing whatever numerical key the player assigned that skill to. They normally take up the Ki bar. The majority of Blasts can be charged up (by holding down the assigned key before releasing it), and the player can move slowly while doing so. | |
Rush | Skills that gauge power by Physical Damage, split between long range rushes that require a locked-on target and close-range attacks. They can be triggered by pressing whatever numerical key the player assigned that skill to. They normally take up the Stamina bar. | |
Counter | Technical skills that, when used against a melee attack, counterattack and deal damage to the enemy. They can be triggered by pressing whatever numerical key the player assigned that skill to. Some scale power by Physical Damage and some by Ki Damage. They work against melee combat and Rush skills only, and nothing else. They normally take up the Stamina bar. | |
Evasive | Technical skills that can be used to break combos or briefly stun enemies. They can be used any time, by holding down R and then pressing X, in the middle of a combo or skill, and when used against a Beam attack it will immediately cancel the beam. Only one Evasive skill can be equipped at a time. They normally take up the Evasive bar. | |
Ultimate | Powerful and often flashy attacks. They can be triggered by pressing either 7 or 8. Intended to be used to punctuate the end of a combo, Ultimates are also split between Beam, Blast, Counter, and Rush variants. They normally require MAX Power and take up the player's entire Ki bar. | |
Transformation | Simply referred to as forms. Transformations multiply the user's stat output. They can be triggered by holding down G and then pressing whatever numerical key the player has assigned that transformation to. They can also be mastered, meaning the player can train in these forms to reduce drainage. Transformations can be further divided into Transformation (or Regular), Giant, Power-up, Technique, and Ability. Regular forms are forms that can be mastered and give a certain amount of stats; Giant forms are forms that cannot be mastered, and increases the player's body size; Power-ups are forms that can be stacked on top of other forms; Technique forms are forms that cannot be mastered and do not give out a set amount of stats; and Abilities are not essentially considered a form and triggered the same way as triggering a Transformation. |
Archetypes[]
Beams, Blasts, Rushes, and Evasives come with archetypes (or sub-types). The following is a list of skill archetypes, some of which are tentatively named.
Archetype | Parent Type | Description |
---|---|---|
Ki Wave | Beam | Ki Wave-type Beams are the most basic kind of Beams. These energy waves take the form of good-sized beams of energy. These can normally be charged (by holding down the button said skill was assigned to), and are the kinds of Beams to be susceptible to beam clashes. Examples include the Kamehameha, Galick Gun, and Masenko. |
Laser | Beam | Laser-type Beams are the skinnier but faster type of Beams. Unlike Ki Wave-type Beams, Laser-type Beams cannot partake in beam clashes and cannot be charged (with a few exceptions). Examples include Special Beam Cannon, Death Beam, and Darkness Eye Laser. |
Laser Barrage | Beam | Laser Barrage-type Beams consist of barrages of Laser-type Beams, inflicting multiple hits. Examples include Crazy Finger Beam, Barrage Death Beam, and Brave Gatling. |
Energy Sphere | Blast | Energy Sphere-type Blasts take the form of a single ki blast of any shape. With a few exceptions, they can be charged. Examples include Eraser Cannon, Shine Shot, and Destructo Disc. |
Barrage | Blast | Barrage-type Blasts take the form of a multitude of ki blasts. With a few exceptions, Barrage-type Blasts have minor tracking. Due to this, each individual ki blast doesn't deal much damage, but groups of them can deal multiple number of hits. Examples include Trap Shooter, Eraser Shot Volley, and Triple Milky Cannon. |
Close-Range | Blast | Close-Range-type Blasts take the form of point-blank ki attacks that have the least amount of range among the other Blasts. In other words, they require the player to be within punching range in order to be able to deal damage. They also cannot be charged, and most of them deal consecutive bits of damage. Examples include Gravity Impact, Galactic Blow, and Dirty Fireworks. |
Exploding Wave | Blast | Exploding Wave-type Blasts are non-chargeable, AoE-type Blasts. Whenever the player casts the skill while locked onto a player or NPC, an explosion will occur around said entity, and its vicinity; when casted without being locked onto an entity, the explosion will instead occur on the user's area. They can lock on and hit an enemy only whenever they're knocked back by a melee attack. Examples include Blazing Storm, Death Storm, and Death Razor. |
Combo | Rush | Combo-type Rushes are essentially the type of Rushes that lock opponents in a combo starting off with a close-range blow. With a few exceptions, they can be vanished out of. Examples include Burning Breaker, Cross Arm Dive, and Mach Punch. |
Auto-Combo | Rush | Auto-Combo-type Rushes are similar in mechanics to Combo-type Rushes, with the only difference being that they can be carried out without having to have the opponent caught in the initial blow. Examples include Soaring Dragon Strike, Meteor Crash, and High Speed Rush. |
Homing | Rush | Also known as Chase-type Rushes, Homing-type Rushes are the type that involve flying towards the opponent first, therefore requiring lock-on in order to be administered. Some Homing-type Rushes follow up their first tackling blow with a combo. Examples include Death Chaser, Meteor Break, and Change the Future. |
Enhanced Blow | Rush | Enhanced Blow-type Rushes are essentially Rushes that deal very few hits, most dealing just one. Because of this feat, they usually don't take up as much Stamina as the other Rushes, and cannot be vanished out of (with a few exceptions). Examples include Ki Blast Thrust, Sonic Kick, and Rocket Tackle. |
Dodge | Evasive | Dodge-type Evasives involve the player simply escaping an attack. Due to their feat of not affecting the opponent in any way, they usually take up only one Defense bar. Examples include Super Back Jump, Super Front Jump, and Instant Rise. |
Knockback | Evasive | Knockback-type Evasives involve the player knocking back their assailant through some means. Examples include Blaster Meteor, Perfect Barrier, and Dual Masenko. |
Stun | Evasive | Stun-type Evasives involve the player leaving behind a condition upon the opponent as well as escaping the attack, such an example being blinding. Examples include Solar Flare, Senko Ki Blast, and Psycho Escape. |
