The Hyperbolic Time Chamber (also known as the Time Chamber, HBTC and HTC) is a Special World accessed through Kami's Lookout on Earth and Future Earth. Access can be bought either through a one-time token of 200,000 Zeni, or unlimited use across all character slots through the Hyperbolic Time Chamber gamepass.

Overview[]

The Hyperbolic Time Chamber is a mostly empty expanse, the only contents being the entrance temple and any players who are currently inside.

When the player first enters the Time Chamber, a timer in the top right of the HUD will start to count down from 2,400 seconds (40 minutes). Once the timer expires, the player will be kicked from the experience and no longer be able to access the Time Chamber on that character slot until 24 hours have passed since they first entered, refreshing the timer. Any remaining time left in the Time Chamber does not carry over to or influence the following day — leaving with 1,000 seconds on the timer will still give you 2,400 seconds when it next resets.

An example: a player enters the Time Chamber on Day 1 at 18:00 (6:00PM) and leaves at 18:30 (6:30PM) with 600 seconds left on the timer. Entering the next day at 17:00, (5:00PM) their time remaining is still listed as 600 seconds; but once the time reaches 18:00 (6:00PM) again, their time remaining resets to 2,400 seconds and Day 2 has officially begun.

Stat Training[]

Pressing TAB opens the Training Mode menu from which players can track their progress. Each day, players can earn up to 10 stat points in eligible fields (Health, Agility, Ki Control, Physical Damage, and Ki Damage) up to a maximum defined as (MaxLevel) ÷ 2.5 = (HTCMaxStat). At the current level cap of 700, this allows players to earn a maximum of 280 in all stats from grinding in the Time Chamber.

There are two avenues down which the player can go for stat training: button prompts and player action.

Button Prompts[]

Clicking on the stat you want to improve in the Training Mode menu puts you into a minigame where you must press the indicated key/button(s) within the allotted time. Successfully completing a prompt will net you a small amount of progress on that stat (approximately 1.3%) and work towards increasing your Multiplier.

After an arbitrary number of chained prompts (between 8 and 15) your Multiplier will increase to x2, (2.6%) x3, (3.9%) x4 (5.2%) and x5 (6.5%) until you fail a prompt and your Multiplier is set back to x1. Every Multiplier higher than x1 further requires an additional key/button input and provides less time to complete the prompt.

Player Actions[]

Alternative to button prompts, players can progress their stat training through "player actions": moving around, charging Ki, using skills, etcetera. Below is a list of actions the player can perform to increase their progress, and by how much.

  • Taking hits. The damage of these hits relative to the player's health is irrelevant, and so the player should focus on taking as many hits, as fast as possible, for as little damage as possible. Exacts TBD.

  • Running/flying = +0.9% every 0.5 seconds.
  • Dashing = +0.9% per dash.
  • Snap Vanishing = +0.9% per vanish.

  • Charging = +1.1% every 0.5 seconds.
  • Max POWER Mode = +0.225% every 0.5 seconds. Stacks with charging Ki.

  • Using basic moves (M1 and M2) = +0.6% per hit.
  • Hitting a player for melee damage = +0.6% per hit.

  • Using basic ki blasts = +0.6% per blast.
  • Using Beam or Blast skills = +7.5% per skill.
  • Using Beam or Blast Ultimate skills = +15% per Ultimate skill.

Mastery Training[]

Complementary to the stat training, players who use unmastered transfromations in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber will gain Form Mastery at twice the normal speed. This stacks with the x2 Mastery gamepass to four-times the normal speed.

Bugs[]

  • Even if the player completes a button prompt, they can still fail if the animation for completing one extends past the timer running out. This is most noticeable (AND ESPECIALLY EGREGIOUS) when doing Ki Damage training, as the animation for it is noticeably longer than other animations.
