Combat allows the player to fight NPCs or other players. Its system of combat consists of punches and kicks.
Basic Combat
Basic combat refers to the punches and kicks that are performed by left-clicking and right-clicking or pressing Q and E (or pressing X on the controller, depending on the player's device).
Combos
A combo is a sequence of punches and kicks that are executed when left-clicking and right-clicking (or pressing Q and E or X and Y, depending on the platform). Carrying out the commands in a certain order will execute a special move.
The Basic Combo Set is the basic and primary set of combos. They are chargeable, and can end a combo. The Supplementary Combo Set is the secondary set of combos that follow up the Basic Combo Set. An Assault Chase is performed that is used after a Supplementary Combo Set. There are various Assault Chases that can be performed depending on the set of commands carried out.
Stamina Break
A Stamina Break is performed if the player blocks and then right-clicks (or pressing Y, depending on the player's device). Upon execution, the player's character slowly prepares a heavy hit as an orange sphere visibly shrinks into the character's body. When the sphere completely disappears, the player does a sucker punch, and if the opponent is caught by the attack, they will be completely depleted of their Defense and Stamina bars. While being Stamina-Broken, the opponent cannot do any actions that use up their Defense and Stamina bars, until they're completely replenished.
A Heavy Stamina Break is an enhanced version of the Stamina Break, where the same command is carried out but the player has to be in MAX Power mode. Upon being Heavy Stamina-Broken, the opponent is forced into stun-lock recovery mode, meaning they are completely immobilized until either their Defense or Stamina bar is fully replenished.
Bars
The bars refer to the interfaces seen on the top left corner of the player's screen.
Health Bar
The Health bar is the green bar that determines the player's Health (or HP), or how much more damage the player can endure. Whenever the player is down to ~15% HP, the bar turns red. Should the Health bar be completely depleted, the player (or NPC) will die, giving them the choice to either respawn with full HP (and other bars full) or go to the Other World.
When locking on a player or a fightable NPC, the player can see their Health bar on the top right corner, which is red instead of green.
For either players or NPCs, ways to lose HP are:
- Getting hit by basic combat, such as punches and kicks.
- Getting hit by Blasts, Beams, Rushes, Counters, or Ultimates.
- Getting hit by ki blasts. For enemies, however, ki blasts no longer damage them whenever they're down to 1 HP.
- Getting Stamina-Broken.
- Getting thrown.
- Using any form of Kaioken (from mastery levels Unmastered to Tier 3). This is not the case for enemies.
- Using Blue Kaioken. This is not the case for enemies.
- Being successfully absorbed by a Majin player. This instantly kills the player, and is not the case for enemies.
- Resetting character. This instantly kills the player, and is not the case for enemies.
For players, ways to regain HP are:
- Leveling up. This restores the player to full HP (and other bars full as well).
- Using Senzu Beans and Half Senzu Beans.
- Using Regeneration, which is a race ability exclusive to Namekians.
- Using Super Regeneration, which is a race ability exclusive to Majins.
- Standing still, if the player is a Bio-Android.
For enemies, ways to regain HP are:
- Not taking damage for a while after aggro.
- Transforming. Certain enemies such as Frieza and Cooler are capable of doing so.
Ki Bar
The Ki bar is the yellow bar that is below the HP bar, between that and the Stamina bar. It determines how much ki the player has, meaning how many ki blasts or Beam or Blast skills the player can perform. Doing the aforementioned moves uses up the Ki bar, and the usual way of replenishing the Ki bar is charging.
Stamina Bar
The Stamina bar is the dark blue bar that is below the Ki bar. It determines the player's Stamina, or how much they can endure fast flying or using Rushes or Counters. When the Stamina bar is at 15% it turns yellow, and when it is down to 5% it turns red. When it is fully down, the player is unable to fast fly or use Rushes or Counters. It cannot be regained by charging. Unlike players, NPCs don't have a Stamina bar, so they have an infinite amount of Stamina.
Ways to lose Stamina are:
- Fast-flying.
- Using Rushes or Counters.
- Being Stamina-Broken.
- Being hit with basic combat by a Tuffle player.
Ways to regain Stamina are:
- Waiting, not doing anything that uses up Stamina. The Stamina bar slowly regenerates over time. Certain Power-Ups can speed up or slow down this regeneration process.
- Using Divine Water and Ultra Divine Water.
Defense Bar
The Defense bar, sometimes called the Evasive bar, is the set of five lavender bars located beside the Ki bar. It allows the player to dodge.
For players, ways to use up the Defense bar are:
- Using an Evasive. This uses up two Defense bars.
- Being Stamina-Broken. This completely depletes the Defense bar, and the player is unable to use up the Defense bar until the bar is fully replenished.
For players, ways to regain the Defense bar are:
- Waiting, not doing anything that uses up Defense. The Stamina bar slowly regenerates over time. Certain Power-Ups can speed up or slow down this regeneration process.
- Using a Sports Drink or Special Sports Drink.
- Using the Power-Up Rise to Action. This regains two Defense bars.
